Brad McCurley has left Infamous.

When a player leaves a team or is cut it is typically done on bad terms, with McCurley it is different. As Infamous sits right now they are sponsorship-less and will not be going to be supported by GI Sportz in 2017. The writing was on the wall when players started to leave GI Sportz for Valken; Travis Lemanski, Kevin Rudulph and Damian Ryan all left GI Sportz and now work for Valken. Sponsorship and working for a company is not mandatory but it looks like in the case of some of the Infamous players it was part of the deal.

Captain O-Ring Players Kit Large Color...
  • O-rings are color coded by size, eliminating the headache of matching up sizes
  • This 360 piece Players Kit contains 18 of the most common sized o-rings found in paintball equipment (20 of each size)
  • Kit includes o-rings sorted by size/color in individual compartments

McCurley on the other hand has decided to do what is best for his family and stay with GI Sportz and leave Infamous. He is undecided where he will play in 2017, but one thing is for sure it will be a GI Sportz team. Impact? I hope not….

The past 5 years have been the best of my life. From meeting my now wife, to seeing parts of the world I never thought possible, INFAMOUS has been a factor in all of it. It’s been a roller coaster from day one with the #INFam, but a roller coaster I never saw myself getting off of.

I’ll never forget the first tournament with INFAMOUS; World Cup 2011. Todd and Travis gave Jabroni (Damian) and me a shot after us and Chicago Legend shocked the paintball world and won NPPL DC. Getting to play alongside legends like John Richardson and Rusty Glaze in their last event was an experience in itself and that was just the beginning. Over the next few years I learned an incredible amount and met some of my best friends! We built relationships and tonsssss of memories (many blurry ones) that will last forever. From the adventures of Trex, Brex and Toddler, to hospitals in Germany and Poland with the Don, Shovel, and Midnight Strangler, our squad has been through A LOT to say the least!

Playing for Travis and INFAMOUS also gave me the opportunity to ensure a future for myself in the sport by working in the industry. Travis introduced me to the guys at KEE and most importantly Billy almost 4 years ago and I haven’t looked back since! I couldn’t be more grateful to those two for the opportunity! They’ve truly been father figures for me in an industry that is unlike any other.

Which brings me to the whole point of this…

It pains me to say that INFAMOUS and I will be parting ways for the 2017 season. We part on the best of terms and all understand that we each need to do what is best for our families. We understand that this isn’t necessarily goodbye forever, but regardless, this has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with. The #INFam will always be family and juuuust wait ‘til you see the wedding video from Sina and Arthur! Haha

I will continue to pursue my career with GI Sportz in Fort Lauderdale with my new wife Rozy McCurley and have yet to sign with a new team for the 2017 season. I have a number of options on the table but am in no rush to jump into anything without weighing all the options as to best choose what’s best for us in the long run.

I want to thank everyone that has been a part of the #INFam over the past 5 years! All the amazing support from fans all over the world has been unreal! You guys keep us going! Thank you Shawn, Ben, Cam, and all the other crazy canucks in our pit crew that have been there for us time and time again! Thank you to all my brothers on the squads over the years for making a crazy Irishman like myself look somewhat normal. And most of all thank you Trav for everything! You’re a true friend and I wouldn’t be where I am today without you!

For now… my beautiful new bride and I are off to Fiji for our Honeymoon! Much love!

Thanks,
Brad McCurley
